Medical real estate development firm Medistar has unveiled plans to develop new integrated senior care facilities in three submarkets within the Greater Houston area, US.
Each facility will offer resident-focused assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing services for the communities of Katy, Pearland and the Webster-Clear Lake area.
Medistar founder Monzer Hourani said: "While some have only recently begun to focus on the continuum of care, meeting the needs of residents and their families has been a high priority to Medistar and our operator partners for over three decades.
"The Katy and Pearland facilities will be stand-alone communities providing high-quality skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care services to meet the needs of both of these vibrant communities.
"While the Webster-Clear Lake facility will provide the same calibre of senior care, it also will be part of a significant new medical complex that will include on-site imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, elective surgery centre, outpatient cardiac cath lab, outpatient rehabilitation services and medical offices."
The company will construct the Katy senior care facility at its 150-acre site on Park West. It is an upscale mixed-use development project located adjacent to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.
The Pearland senior care facility was designed to complement acute care services of Memorial Hermann Southeast, allowing the community to meet the needs of post-acute and residential care for seniors.
Medistar completed construction of Bay Area Rehabilitation Hospital and acquisition and renovation of Gemini I medical office building and development and expansion of Bay Area Regional Medical Centre in the Webster-Clear Lake area.
Medistar designs and develops general, post-acute and surgical hospitals, medical office buildings and related facilities across the US.
