Newport Health Solutions and Northwell Health have jointly formed a new company, Health Connect Technologies (HCT), to further develop and commercialise its suite of population health and network management products.
The expertise of the new company is expected to help address the growing needs of healthcare organisations in establishing best practices to improve the management and oversight of population health efforts.

Health Connect is a management solution technological platform that provides connectivity among physicians, hospitals and other service providers.
Northwell Health executive vice-president Mark Solazzo said: "Given the focus on accountable and value-based care in today’s rapidly changing healthcare environment, we are continually evaluating our strategy and improving our processes to better collaborate with our community based providers and enhance the quality of care to our patients."
With Health Connect, participants will have the ability to follow a patient’s journey. It also provides a common platform for disparate organisations to monitor referrals and offers better overall collaboration on patient care.

"The effort has created multiple downstream revenue opportunities for the hospital.
"The data and analytic reporting empower us with metrics to manage the growth of our patient population and physician network."
In establishing HCT, Northwell Ventures senior vice-president and executive director Thomas Thornton have been working closely with Newport Health.
