Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital in the UK has deployed the ACUSON S2000 diagnostic ultrasound system from Siemens Healthcare.
The diagnostic ultrasound system will provide 2D doppler and 3D/4D imaging and support a variety of procedures including image-guided injections, musculoskeletal procedures and achilles work.
The ACUSON S2000 system, powered with high-density element array transducers, will provide improved image resolution and allow clinicians to distinguish fine tissue detail.
The system is expected to deliver a comprehensive suite of tissue strain applications such as eSie Touch and Virtual Touch.
The system is also ergonomically designed for ease-of-use in hospitals and puts the most frequently used controls within easy reach, according to Siemens.
Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital radiologist Andrew Redfern said: "The new ACUSON S2000 replaced an old system at the hospital and staff have noticed an improvement in the image resolution already."
"The improved image clarity will greatly benefit patients receiving image-guided injections or diagnostic musculoskeletal procedures," Redfern added.
Siemens Healthcare ultrasound regional sales manager Michael Buchanan said: "The ACUSON S2000 system delivers detailed image quality in both B-mode and colour Doppler to improve diagnostic confidence."
He added: "The versatility of the system for different clinical procedures is also extremely beneficial, covering a wide variety of procedures in musculoskeletal, women’s health, cardiac, obs/gynae and OR environments."
Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital offers a range of specialist departments coupled with advanced technological facilities.
