Marin

Royal Philips has secured a $90m contract from US-based Marin General Hospital (MGH) to provide advanced medical technologies to treat patients across Marin county.

According to the company, the partnership signals a growing trend within hospitals and health systems to better manage the cost and complexity of their technology investments, as well as expand quality access to advanced medical care to improve patient outcomes.

Under a 15-year contract, Philips will offer a range of advanced medical technologies, including imaging systems, patient monitoring, telehealth and clinical informatics solutions to the hospital.

The company will also offer clinical education, consulting and design services to the hospital, which is based on an enterprise managed services model.

Royal Philips CEO Frans van Houten said: "Forward thinking organisations such as Marin General Hospital understand that for community hospitals to differentiate themselves and to comply with new value-based models, they need to focus on the patient experience and team up with a technology partner that has a deep understanding of how a hospital operates."

"Philips will offer a range of advanced medical technologies, including imaging systems, patient monitoring and telehealth to the hospital."

Under its plans, Marin General Hospital intends to break ground on a hospital replacement project and open a modern breast health centre this year.
