Metroplex Adventist Hospital, a 232-bed hospital located in Killeen, Texas, has selected Carestream’s new DRX-Evolution DR room as its main hub for all general radiology exams.

Following demonstrations by several suppliers’ room-based DR systems at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting and positive independent reports from KLAS, MD Buyline and ECRI, the hospital opted for the DRX-Evolution to address its needs.

Metroplex Adventist Hospital radiology director Randy Hill said the hospital had a CR system but when volume doubled to 1,000 exams a month, it needed a fully featured DR room that could efficiently perform any type of imaging exam.

"Since this room is so critical to our workflow, I carefully researched user feedback on DR rooms from KLAS, MD Buyline and ECRI Institute reports in addition to attending demonstrations of several leading DR systems. The DRX-Evolution quickly became my first choice," Hill added.

"We are pleased with all aspects of implementing the DRX-Evolution, from the installation and training to ongoing support that is just a phone call away. Every member of Carestream’s team has been knowledgeable and helpful."

The hospital’s DRX-Evolution has both a wall stand and elevating table and performs cross table, spine, long length, extremity, chest, abdomen and other general radiology exams.
