US-based healthcare real estate developer NexCore Group has completed the construction of a new medical office building (MOB) at Northwest Medical Center (NMC) Houghton hospital campus in Tucson, Arizona, US.

The new 45,250ft2 building at 2300 S. Houghton Road will serve as a significant addition to the NMC campus.

It will provide a wide range of healthcare services to the community in southeast Tucson.

Now, both the new two-storey MOB and the NMC Houghton hospital are completely operational and offer comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in a single location.

The multi-functional building will provide access to general surgery, pulmonary, rheumatology, gastroenterology, dermatology, primary care, cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedic services and physical therapy.

NexCore Group Real Estate Development executive vice-president Nathan Golik said: “Completing the Northwest Medical Center Houghton medical office building is a distinct effort in expanding care in Tucson.

“We were able to increase the size of the building by approximately 20% to capture more independent physicians in the market and broaden the services offered on campus.

“We know there is a need for inpatient and outpatient services in this area and we are honoured to be a part of the solution.”

Haydon Building has worked as the general contractor and the Wold | HFR Design served as the architect for the new building.

The 52-bed NMC Houghton hospital includes medical/surgical, telemetry, and intensive care units, labor, delivery, postpartum & neonatal intensive care unit, diagnostic imaging, including MRI, CT, X-Ray, ultrasound, and mammography.

Recently, NexCore Group opened a new orthopaedic medical office building (MOB) at Council Bluffs, Iowa.
