Linear accelerators are pivotal in treating various cancers via external-beam radiation therapy with precision, minimising damage to healthy tissue.

These are primarily used for treating cancers of the skin, lungs, head, cervix, neck, breast, prostate, and brain.

OneOncology CEO Jeff Patton said: “By helping Coastal Cancer Center expand into radiology oncology, OneOncology is fulfilling its mission to assist our independent practice partners by identifying and executing strategies to remain independent, grow, and bring high-value cancer care services to their patients, employers, and payors.”

National physician-led organisation OneOncology supports a network of independent oncology practices, including Coastal Cancer Center.

With over 1,000 providers, OneOncology serves more than 640,000 patients annually.

Meanwhile, GenesisCare operates over 440 centres globally, with a presence in the US, UK, Spain, and Australia.
