Burjeel Holdings has announced the inauguration of an orthopaedic institute at its flagship quaternary care facility Burjeel Medical City (BMC).

The Burjeel Orthopedic Institute provides care for adults and children, encompassing surgery, rehabilitation, bone cancer treatment, and sports medicine.

As the newest among Burjeel’s network of specialised institutes, the institute joins the Kypros Nicolaides Fetal Medicine and Therapy Center, Advanced Gynecology Institute, Burjeel ENT Head and Neck Institute, Burjeel Cancer Institute, and the Trust Fertility Clinic.

It was inaugurated by Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation Board of Trustees chairman Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is led by a Emirati medical expert team.

Recently accredited by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, as a specialised centre in orthopaedic care, BMC integrates advanced orthopaedic and surgical care with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The facility provides several services, such as joint repair and replacement, spinal surgeries, pelvic and upper shoulder procedures, sports medicine, limb lengthening, and paediatric orthopaedic care.

BMC is also home to the Paley Middle East Clinic, which focuses on treating musculoskeletal deformities in children.

BMC head of department and consultant orthopaedic surgeon Dr Mohamed Muath ADI said that the institute combines diagnostics, treatment, and post-rehabilitation care within a patient-centred model.

Muath said: “At BMC, we prioritise every detail of our patients’ journeys, starting from initial examinations and leveraging the latest technologies to ensure a seamless and comprehensive treatment experience tailored to the entire family.”

It features robotic technologies for occupational and rehabilitation therapy, such as underwater hydrotherapy, along with patient clinics designed to provide comfort.

The institute also places a strong emphasis on ongoing medical research.
