GE HealthCare has formed a ten-year alliance with Pointcore and US-based integrated health system OSF HealthCare to enhance the latter’s clinical and operational efficiencies.

As part of this collaboration, GE HealthCare will provide its technology and Pointcore will offer its nonclinical management expertise to support OSF HealthCare’s mission to standardise care delivery models and improve patient outcomes across Illinois and Michigan, US.

GE HealthCare said that the new partnership will strengthen the trio’s combined focus on a foundational alliance that will result in investments in new digital tools, technology systems, and support services in areas such as nuclear medicine, radiology, and oncology.

In addition, a partnership between Pointcore and GE HealthCare will drive healthcare technology management services to optimise the management of OSF’s medical equipment.

Another key aspect of the alliance is investment in innovation that leverages advanced analytics to streamline capital management, allowing OSF HealthCare to reinvest in patient care.

As part of this innovation approach, OSF HealthCare will implement the latest version of GE HealthCare’s Digital Expert Access with remote scanning, an FDA 510(k)-cleared device to enable remote patient scanning on MRI machines.

This technology aims to reduce wait times and care disruption for patients by enabling remote collaboration between technologists to accelerate knowledge sharing and decision making.

The collaboration will also focus on enhancing precision care in oncology, developing pathways for precise, personalised patient care through customised solutions in radiation oncology and Theranostics for diseases such as prostate cancer.

This work is expected to improve the delivery of integrated cancer care at OSF.

GE Healthcare anticipates commencing the collaborative efforts in spring this year, with the launch of the OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute in Peoria, Illinois.

GE HealthCare US and Canada president and CEO Catherine Estrampes said: “OSF HealthCare, Pointcore, and GE HealthCare are doing this together through integrated technology, digital solutions, advanced analytics, and dedicated clinical and operational specialists.

“The work of our combined teams will help enable OSF HealthCare to standardise care across their system and empower their Mission Partners (employees) to focus on patients and communities.”
