PathAI has announced a collaboration to integrate its technology into Rede D’Or’s diagnostic centre and hospital network in Brazil.

This move marks PathAI’s strategic entry into the South American market and signifies Rede D’Or’s commitment to adopting digital pathology at scale.

Rede D’Or plans to integrate the AISight image management system from PathAI throughout its pathology departments, which serve a network of 78 hospitals, to advance clinical research.

AISight is an intelligent, cloud-native enterprise workflow solution designed to enhance digital pathology practices.

As a central hub for case and image management, it provides integration with laboratory information systems and is compatible with a variety of scanners.

The cloud-based architecture of AISight allows for quick activation and scalability, without the need for additional infrastructure investments. It includes built-in image analysis and collaboration tools for an improved user experience.

In addition, the platform’s open AI environment incorporates algorithms from both PathAI and third-party partners, facilitating diverse histopathology applications.

One of the advanced features of AISight is the AIM-Breast Biomarker panel for supporting the quantification of ER, PR, HER2, and Ki67.

Rede D’Or’s adoption of PathAI’s technology will also improve its research capabilities.

Rede D’Or anatomic pathology department head Fernando Soares said: “We are looking forward to integrating AISight into our pathology workflows to enhance precision and efficiency, particularly in oncology, while advancing our research capabilities amidst our continued expansion.”

The implementation of PathAI’s technology is part of Rede D’Or’s R$7.5bn ($1.3bn) expansion plan, which aims to increase its network to more than 125 facilities.

PathAI co-founder and CEO Andy Beck said: “Rede D’Or’s commitment to innovation in healthcare as a means to improve patient outcomes makes them the ideal partner for introducing our technology to the Latin American market.”
