Non-profit healthcare network PIH Health has launched a new urgent care centre at Westlake District in Los Angeles, US.

A mile away from PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, PIH Health Urgent Care Center Westlake seeks to bring quality care closer to people.

The facility will offer urgent care services to residents of Westlake, Downtown Los Angeles and nearby areas.

Services at the centre include providing care for minor illnesses such as earaches, coughs and minor wounds that may require stitches. People can also avail sports physicals service at the facility.

Furthermore, patients can walk into the facility and avail services without appointment.

Conditions ranging from animal bites, burns, bruises, infections to flu, headaches, sprains, stomach and abdominal pain will be treated at the new centre.

The urgent care facility will also provide treatment for asthma, broken bones as well as urinary tract infections.

PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital chief medical officer and PIH Health Urgent Care System medical director Jaime Diaz said: “The opening of Urgent Care Center Westlake will allow us to expand our services to patients in the Los Angeles community and surrounding areas.

“This new facility will give local community members access to our highly trained network of compassionate care providers so that they can receive medical treatment when they need it.”

The PIH Health network of hospitals provide care to nearly 3.7 million residents in Los Angeles County, Orange County and San Gabriel Valley.

Apart from the new facility, PIH Health also operates urgent care centres in Downey, Hacienda Heights, La Habra, Montebello, Santa Fe Springs and Whittier.
