Indian children’s hospital chain Rainbow Children’s Medicare (RCML) has opened a 100-bed spoke hospital in Bengaluru, India.

The hospital will provide 24/7 emergency care and outpatient services, as well as advanced neonatal and paediatric intensive care.

It is strategically located on Sarjapur Road, a residential and commercial area in South East Bengaluru, and is well-connected to technology parks and corporate offices in Whitefield, Electronic City and Marathahalli.

The hospital is RCML’s fourth paediatric multi-speciality facility with integrated perinatal care in the city.

Its opening expands the hospital chain’s presence in Bengaluru with a combined total of 452 beds across the city.

The Sarjapur Road hospital also aims to complement the existing hub hospital at Marathahalli by providing a full range of paediatric and obstetric services.

RCML chairman and managing director Dr Ramesh Kancharla said: “With the addition of our fourth hospital, in Bengaluru at Sarjapur Road, Rainbow Children’s hospital has strengthened its presence in Bengaluru.

“In keeping with the brand ethos, the facility has been designed with a child-centric environment and soothing interiors to make it appealing to children.

“This hospital will further augment our hub and spoke model to provide wider coverage, better access and offer superior care for children and women in the city.”

RCML has now commissioned 295 beds in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, making progress towards the 1,000-bed target set during its initial public offering.

The Rainbow Children’s Hospital network now includes 18 hospitals and three clinics across six cities, with a total capacity of 1,795 beds.

The hospitals offer specialised paediatric services, including intensive care, multi-speciality services and quaternary care such as organ transplantation.

Under its ‘Birthright by Rainbow’ portfolio, RCML also caters to women’s healthcare needs by providing comprehensive perinatal services.

Rainbow Children’s Hospital recently partnered with the Ministry of Health in Zanzibar, Tanzania, to improve regional paediatric healthcare services.
