Arabian Healthcare Group (AHG) brand RAK Hospital is set to triple its capacity and become a 200-bed hospital by the end of 2024, with the continuation of the partnership between AHG and US healthcare provider CommonSpirit Health.

Initially announced in 2018, the collaboration made RAK Hospital to align with CommonSpirit’s international health representative, Dignity Health International (DHI).

The collaboration’s key areas will include care coordination, training and education, clinical alignment, digital innovation, network expansion and overall patient experience improvement.

The RAK Hospital expansion is designed to provide fully coordinated care as well as access to clinical expertise across DHI’s affiliated network of doctors to patients in the region.

It will also focus on orthopaedic specialists, musculoskeletal conditions, neurosciences, cardiac services, and rehabilitation.

RAK Hospital executive director and Arabian Healthcare Group CEO Dr Raza Siddiqui said: “We are tripling our capacity to become a 200-bed facility by the end of 2024.

“This will enable us to cater to the increasing influx of medical tourists expected in the United Arab Emirates, as well as to meet the increased demand for quality health care which will be created by implementation of mandatory health insurance in the Northern Emirates in the coming years. The expansion will equip us to serve local and international patients with high-quality care.”

Digital and smart health practices along with telehealth services will be implemented to support the expansion requirements.

CommonSpirit system senior vice-president and DHI chief administrative officer Gregg Davis said: “We look forward to expanding our current working relationship with AHG.

“This collaboration will align our physicians and nurses with providers from AHG, enhancing clinical capabilities available for patients within the MENA region and, ultimately, impacting patient outcomes.”
