US-based general contractor BNBuilders has announced the completion of the SAC Health Brier Campus project in California, US, in collaboration with Perkins&Will.
The project involved the conversion of a 240,000ft² office building in San Bernardino into a health centre.
The new facility is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) under OSHPD-3 classification and provides a range of medical services, including paediatrics, family medicine, behavioural health, and dentistry.
Designed to cater to the needs of patients in San Bernardino, the centre also features integrated spaces for patient support programmes.
SAC Health chief operating officer Maryellen Westerberg said: “The completion of SAC Health Brier Campus will position us to support the growing need for quality, affordable healthcare in the region.
“With the help of our building partners, we are proud and eager to welcome our community into a space that allows us to provide whole-person, patient-centred care.”
SAC Health is the only faith-based and teaching FQHC in the San Bernardino area, offering care in more than 40 specialities and receiving more than 200,000 patients each year.
The Brier Campus will act as the space for SAC Health clinics across the Inland Valley, enhancing care access, particularly serving those patients who are underserved.
The expansion of SAC Health’s capacity is expected to have a positive impact on the local workforce, creating more than 200 jobs for healthcare professionals and support staff.
BNBuilders principal Brian Dague said: “At its core, construction is about building our local communities, and that’s a big part of why we love it.
“Our commitment doesn’t stop there. We strive to leave a positive impact in the neighbourhoods where we do business, which is why we focus on building quality relationships with community partners.”
BNBuilders is an employee-owned general contractor active in California, Colorado and Washington, with six offices and more than 1,000 employees.
