US-based non-profit healthcare provider Spectrum Healthcare has partnered with Cloud-based technology provider NextGen Healthcare to provide whole-person care to patients in Arizona.

The collaboration involves deploying various NextGen solutions such as the Enterprise electronic health record (EHR), Enterprise practice management (PM), NextGen Population Health Solutions and NextGen Self-Scheduling powered by Luma.

These solutions aim to enhance interoperability and optimise clinical and financial performance across Spectrum’s network of care sites across Arizona.

The partners will work to address the shortage of primary and behavioural health professionals in the state.

According to figures from the Arizona Department of Health Services, 82 areas in the state are underserved medically.

NAMI Arizona, an affiliate of The National Alliance on Mental Illness, has reported that more than 2.8 million Arizona residents live in communities that have shortages of mental health professionals.

Spectrum aims to address these inequalities by offering integrated mind-body care for patients, irrespective of their ages and backgrounds.

As well as providing in-person services at its seven locations across Arizona, Spectrum delivers both telehealth and in-home services.

It also operates mobile crisis teams in parts of the state and works with local school systems to offer student care at campus.

Spectrum Healthcare CEO April Rhodes said: “For nearly six decades, we have been dedicated to bringing vital services to our communities, and ensuring accessible, whole-person care for our communities.

“We chose NextGen Healthcare as our partner because of our shared vision for using innovative technology solutions to elevate healthcare delivery and address Arizona’s shortage of healthcare providers.”

NextGen Healthcare president and chief operating officer Srinivas Velamoor said: “Spectrum Healthcare is meeting a tremendous need in their communities and NextGen Healthcare is honoured to support their life-changing work.

“Together, we will make a lasting impact throughout the state by creating greater access to care.”
