By opening the ASC, the companies aim to make surgeries more accessible and affordable for patients by moving eligible procedures and surgeries out of hospital settings.

The ASC will also offer pre-operative and post-operative care tailored to individual patients’ needs.

Springfield Regional Outpatient Surgery Center is currently seeking accreditation and Medicare certification for the ASC.

The ASC’s manager will be Brooke Moats, who has 20 years of experience in surgical speciality leadership at hospitals and outpatient centres.

Mercy Health Springfield president Adam Groshans said: “This state-of-the-art centre will offer patients in our local community an additional option for care: one that is focused on accessibility and careful attention to individual surgical needs.

“We look forward to continuing to bring remarkable treatment to our patients while driving innovation and standards of care. We believe this partnership can best accomplish that.”

Springfield Regional Outpatient Surgery Center is a joint venture of Bon Secours Mercy Health, Compass Surgical Partners and local physicians.

Bon Secours Mercy Health is a Catholic health system that offers care through a network of hospitals in the US, while Compass Surgical Partners is a full-service ASC development and management partner that has developed 250 ASCs to date.
