The Philippines Department of Health and the local government of Nabas, Aklan, have broken ground on the Super Health Center in Barangay Poblacion.

These Super Health Centers provide primary care, medical consultations, and early disease detection, particularly in rural areas, reducing hospital congestion.

According to the press statement, the Nabas Super Health Center will provide healthcare services, such as database management, outpatient care, birthing, diagnostics, pharmacy, and ambulatory surgery.

It will also offer specialised services such as eye, ear, nose, and throat care, as well as oncology, physical therapy, rehabilitation, and telemedicine.

Additionally, these centres can serve as satellite vaccination sites for residents living far from urban areas.

Similar Super Health Centers will be established in other parts of Aklan.

Senator BONG GO highlighted the importance of the Malasakit Centers and Regional Specialty Centers in the government’s healthcare strategy.

Malasakit Centers streamline medical assistance programmes for indigent patients, while Regional Specialty Centers provide specialised healthcare services in various regions, reducing the need for extensive travel.

Meanwhile, ground has been broken on another Super Health Center in Lian, Batangas to bring primary care, free consultation, and early disease detection closer to communities, enhancing accessibility to medical services.

Funds have been allocated for the construction of 307 centres in 2022 and 322 this year.
