Healthcare software company Tendo has announced the acquisition of healthcare marketplace MDsave for an undisclosed amount.

MDsave is an online platform that connects healthcare providers, employers, and consumers to affordable, bundled healthcare services.

Jointly, the two companies look to ramp up solutions to boost financial, operational, and health outcomes for their combined clientele.

By incorporating MDsave’s marketplace into Tendo’s platform and services, the acquisition helps patients quickly find, schedule, pay for, and monitor their healthcare with clear pricing.

With new, shoppable services, this acquisition will make it easier for patients and healthcare navigators to access and manage care.

For providers, it will attract new patients by making pricing and payments more transparent.

The deal is expected to be finalised in October this year.

Adventist Health business development executive Cory Ferrier said: “We are very happy to see Tendo’s acquisition of MDsave and the powerful combination of the two companies that will result.

“The future holds much promise, and we are excited to work with the new company as they help us make an impact for our patients, clinicians, and our system overall.”

In addition, the acquisition of MDsave by Tendo aims to offer a better way to address the problem of rising healthcare expenses and finding quality care, particularly for self-insured employers.

Harpeth Capital advised MDsave in this transaction.

Tendo CEO Dan Goldsmith said: “Patients, caregivers, employers, and navigators need easier ways of discovering and consuming high-quality, cost-effective healthcare.

“Together, MDsave and Tendo will create the first end-to-end solution for seeking, scheduling, engaging, paying for, and managing care.”
