“We are proud and honoured to serve the needs of the community in an expert and compassionate fashion in this facility.”

The project, which doubled the size of the haematology/oncology department, was made possible by an $11m capital campaign, with a significant contribution from THE PLAYERS Championship.

Notable features include the Eckstein Family Infusion Suite, equipped with open infusion bays and private isolation rooms, and various spaces designed to meet the needs of patients and their families.

The centre aims to provide optimal outcomes in paediatric oncology care.

Wolfson Children’s Hospital president Allegra C Jaros said: “Building upon the partnership with Nemours Children’s, the new Wolfson Children’s Hospital Infusion suite, supported by the Ray and Kay Eckstein Charitable Trust, will help us provide comfortable, convenient treatments to patients and families within the clinic space.

“Children will be able to see their Nemours paediatric haematologist/oncologist, have their lab draws, get prepared for their infusions, and receive their treatment, all in an outpatient setting.”
