Ujala Cygnus Group of Hospitals has expanded its presence in India, with the opening of its 19th hospital, in the state of Uttarakhand, reported The Economic Times.

This 100-bed hospital has come under Ujala Cygnus’ wing following a collaboration with SH Hospital.

The move is part of Ujala Cygnus’ strategy to expand healthcare in Tier II and III cities of India.

Ujala Cygnus SH Hospital is Ujala Cygnus’ fourth hospital in Uttarakhand state after projects in Kashipur unit 1, 2 and Haldawani.

Following the collaboration, SH multi-specialty hospital has become Ujala Cygnus SH Hospital and is enhanced to super specialty status.

Ujala Cygnus had opened its 18th hospital in August. This is its first 150-bedded super-speciality hospital in Srinagar.

Ujala Cygnus SH Hospital at Sitarganj, Udham Singh Nagar, will provide secondary and tertiary care.

It will feature cardiology, neurosurgery, nephrology & critical care units.

Ujala Cygnus Group of Hospitals executive chairman Probal Ghosal was quoted by the website as saying: “As a dedicated healthcare provider, we are engaged in a relentless pursuit of providing affordable and accessible healthcare services to the people in smaller towns and cities.

“While income levels are rising in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the availability of quality healthcare has always been an issue and we are trying to fill that gap through collaborations and new projects. Ujala Cygnus Group of Hospitals will bring its own healthcare expertise and manage the day-to-day operations of SH Hospital.”
