University Hospital Centre of Saint-Etienne in southeast France is modernising its legacy storage infrastructure by leveraging Pure Storage’s data storage technology including FlashArray, Pure1, and Evergreen architecture.

This integration will secure and expedite access to critical data thereby improving overall patient care and business continuity.

Pure Storage France country manager Hugues Hueze said: “Data is central to delivering better patient outcomes and faster diagnosis and our solutions enable the University Hospital in this regard.

“Not only are we meeting CHU’s needs and positively impacting patients’ lives, we’re also supporting sustainability for the public sector organisation in greatly reducing its data centre footprint.”

FlashArray systems replaced up to 70 units of the hospital’s legacy hardware with just six units thereby increasing storage capacity by 50% and enabling the hospital’s IT team more flexibility to shift workloads.

The team is also able to speed up the work and save time by utilising the easy-to-use interface of the Pure1 AI-driven management platform.

In addition, the Pure Evergreen architecture helps in eliminating the hospital’s downtime and further simplifies management with non-disruptive upgrades to existing controllers.

SafeMode Snapshots of Pure Storage along with ActiveCluster active-active replication across the FlashArray systems help in minimising cyberattacks’ impact.

CHU Saint-Etienne IT Infrastructure operation manager Samuel Pelissier said: “Not only does Pure Storage deliver unrivalled performance and management capabilities that meet our data storage needs, but it enables us to truly secure and scale sensitive and business-critical data to meet growing patient demands, ultimately helping us deliver better care across the region.”
