VEP Healthcare has secured a contract to manage emergency department services at Dignity Health’s Mercy Hospitals in US.
VEP will be responsible for managing the physician group, physician assistants (PAs), and nurse practitioners (NPs) in the emergency departments of Mercy Hospital Downtown and Mercy Hospital Southwest in Bakersfield, California.
Mercy Hospital Downtown operates an 18-bed Level II Emergency Department while Mercy Hospital Southwest manages emergency department with 21beds.
VEP noted that managing MDs, PAs, and NPs will allow the company to provide collaborative, coordinated emergency care at both medical centres.
Each department provides board-certified physicians, nurses, modern digital diagnostic imaging technology, and a primary stroke centre.
For non-life-threatening emergency situations, Mercy Downtown and Mercy Southwest offer an online waiting service known as InQuicker which enables patients to choose an estimated arrival time.
