The Victorian Government of Australia is seeking input from residents and the community on the future use of the Footscray Hospital site after services move to a new hospital in 2025.

Minister for Precincts Colin Brooks is encouraging people to participate in an online survey, which will be open until 29 February 2024, to gather feedback on how the site can be best utilised.

This feedback will help determine what services the community needs.

Additionally, staff from the Department of Transport and Planning will be available for in-person discussions on the site at various locations.

The new hospital is an investment by the Victorian Government, with A$1.5bn ($974.88 m) allocated to provide advanced healthcare for Melbourne’s west and free up 6.6ha for future redevelopment.

Colin Brooks said: “While we are delivering the new Footscray Hospital, we are already planning for the future of the hospital site along Gordon Street – adding to our significant investments in transport, health and education within Footscray.”
