Visionflex Group has entered a partnership with Medibank’s subsidiary Amplar Health to deliver virtual care solutions aimed at improving healthcare for older Australians.
Set to conclude in June 2027, the partnership aims to improve care delivery in rural and remote places, targeting facilities that assist elderly individuals from Indigenous communities and those with varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Visionflex CEO Joshua Mundey said: “We are proud to partner with Amplar Health on this transformative pilot. This agreement is a major milestone in our mission to improve access to high-quality virtual care and represents a strong commercial opportunity for Visionflex.
“By combining Amplar Health’s clinical resources with our real-time virtual diagnostic technology, we are supporting aged care staff and aiming to enhance outcomes for residents nationwide.”
Under the agreement, Visionflex will offer virtual care technology to Residential Aged Care Homes (RACHs), incorporating both hardware and software platforms.
The contract includes a one-off hardware revenue of approximately A$750,000 ($474,502) and software subscription revenue of around $250,000 over the trial period, bringing the total indicative contract value to approximately $1m.
The deployment will be phased over the next 15 months across up to 30 RACHs, with the initial phase commencing by July 2025 at five sites.
This initiative seeks to explore the incorporation of remote nursing assistance within care homes for the elderly, offering essential backing to on-site staff while ensuring that residents receive tailored medical attention.
While not replacing face-to-face services, virtual nursing care is designed to extend clinical expertise to homes in need, thereby enhancing continuity of care.
The success of this initiative could lead to a scalable model for augmenting on-site care through virtual nursing across Australia.
This resilient framework is intended to bolster clinical support in aged care homes.
