Vocera Communications is set to acquire US-based PatientSafe Solutions which has been designed address the clinical workflow needs of regional health systems and small to midsize healthcare facilities.
By consolidating secure messages, voice calls, alerts, and nurse call notifications with the electronic medical record (EMR) data, PatientSafe Solutions will enable care teams to expedite mission-critical workflows management in one mobile smartphone app.
Vocera Communications chairman and CEO Brent Lang said: “This acquisition positions us well to extend our reach into small and mid-size hospitals with a simple-to-deploy and easy-to-use solution.
“We anticipate this transaction will also accelerate our evolution to the cloud and provide opportunities to strengthen key relationships, extending our communication and collaboration solutions to support more frontline workers across the continuum of care.”
PatientSafe Solutions can close the loop on patient-centered workflows by integrating well with EMRs and other clinical and operational systems.
The workflows include positive patient ID, specimen collection, fall risk assessments, clinician documentation, among others.
