AdventHealth has acquired a family medicine practice in Cartersville, Georgia, US, previously known as The Family Medicine Clinic.
It will function under the AdventHealth Medical Group as AdventHealth Medical Group Family and Internal Medicine at Medical Drive.
The acquisition addresses the rising demand for accessible internal and primary healthcare services in Bartow County and its neighbouring regions.
The growth is driven by an increase in the local population and a rising need for the management of chronic and preventive care.
AdventHealth aims to increase the number of access points near the residences of patients, enabling individuals and families to obtain holistic, comprehensive care without the need to travel significant distances.
AdventHealth Medical Group chief operating officer Karen Steely said: “Through this new clinic, we reaffirm our dedication to serving our communities with faith-based, compassionate care that addresses body, mind and spirit, while strengthening local health resources for generations to come.
“Many of our AdventHealth patients from Floyd County, Gordon County, Murray County, and the surrounding communities work in the Cartersville area, and this new clinic provides them with an excellent opportunity to receive convenient care while staying in the AdventHealth network.”
Existing patients will continue to see the same clinicians they have trusted, now supported by AdventHealth’s integrated system of comprehensive care.
Current providers, including J Michael Williams, Tom Beville III, Carisalyn Cousin, FNP-BC, and Abigail Matthews will remain in their roles.
The practice is also adding two internal medicine physicians, Nanditha Jayakumar and Omer Saleem Baig, to enhance support for chronic disease management.
In July 2025, AdventHealth Ottawa opened the expanded Wellsville Health Park in Kansas, US, aimed at enhancing access to comprehensive healthcare for the local and surrounding community.
