Artisight has announced a pilot programme aimed at transforming clinical workflows by integrating Microsoft Dragon Copilot with the Artisight Smart Hospital Platform.
The collaboration introduces ambient AI technology into hospital settings, offering nurses a hands-free and device-free documentation interface.
The capability pairs each nurse's distinct profile with their real-time location system (RTLS) badge, facilitating two-factor authentication for enhanced security.
It removes the need for physical contact, devices or manual logins with shared workstations.
As a result of this collaboration, documentation occurs seamlessly in the background, allowing nurses to enter a room and immediately begin caring for patients.
Artisight CEO Dr Andrew Gostine stated: “Nurses are under immense pressure to balance patient care with administrative requirements.
“By removing technology barriers like logins, phones and computers from the bedside, we're enabling more meaningful face-to-face interactions and creating the kind of patient care experience every clinician in the world wishes they had.”
A pilot programme is currently in progress at a hospital innovation centre, with plans to finalise an extension incorporating Microsoft Dragon Copilot after clinical validation.
During the initial phase of the pilot, nurses reported that they documented their activities more frequently, that AI-generated clinical summaries offered a clearer reflection of the care delivered during each encounter and that the hands-free platform saves time on documentation.
Microsoft health and life sciences chief strategy officer Peter Durlach stated: “Artisight's collaboration with Microsoft Dragon Copilot will enable clinicians to streamline clinical and administrative tasks, reduce burden and ultimately focus more on patient care.
“Together, we will unlock new levels of efficiency in the hospital setting and bring ambient intelligence directly into everyday workflows.”
In September 2025, Yale New Haven Health signed an enterprise-wide agreement with Artisight for its Smart Hospital Platform.
