Auxilio Mutuo Hospital adopts Oracle EHR system

The EHR will boost patients and clinicians' coordination while patient accounting solution will automate billing processes.

Auxilio Mutuo Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has chosen Oracle Health's electronic health record (EHR) system to provide healthcare professionals with a thorough view of patient health data.

The use of this EHR solution is expected to improve patient experiences by enhancing care coordination across the hospital setting as well as communication between clinicians and patients.

Oracle Health highlighted that Auxilio Mutuo was its inaugural health system client in Puerto Rico to deploy an EHR system more than ten years ago.

However, the health system was required to upgrade its EHR system to further address regional challenges, including the threat of natural disasters such as Hurricane Fiona, which disrupted essential services in 2022.

By implementing the new Oracle Health EHR, the hospital aims to provide a secure platform for its care teams, enabling them to make informed decisions in critical situations.

The EHR will also help reduce administrative burdens and enhance patient experiences.

In addition to the EHR solution, Auxilio Mutuo Hospital is also integrating Oracle Health’s RevElate Patient Accounting to automate its billing processes and merge clinical and financial data for greater transparency.

According to Oracle Health, the RevElate Patient Accounting solution is designed to scale and meet the demands of large, complex enterprises.

It offers an open and adaptable framework that supports workflows across various technologies and organisations.

Auxilio Mutuo executive director Jorge Matta-Serrano said: “With the ever-changing healthcare environment, we need a vendor that matches Auxilio Mutuo’s clinical experience and offers a robust EHR system. Oracle is the right partner to help us transform the way we deliver care and increase revenue in future.”

Oracle Health and Oracle Life Sciences executive vice president and general manager Seema Verma added: “Oracle Health’s modern, open, and connected technology helps hospitals and health systems like Auxilio Mutuo overcome some of their most complex challenges, supports their caregivers in spending more time with patients, and aids in reducing administrative tasks.”

In the US, Arkansas Heart Hospital recently expanded its use of Oracle’s EHR and RevElate Patient Accounting solutions across its ambulatory clinics and hospital network.
