Azra AI and Blackford partner to connect imaging AI with care coordination

The integration is intended to ensure patients identified through imaging are guided and supported along the appropriate pathway.

Azra AI and Blackford have formed a partnership to support the progression from imaging-based detection to care coordination for patients with complex or urgent health conditions.

The collaboration brings together Blackford’s enterprise AI platform, which incorporates a range of clinically validated AI imaging solutions, with Azra AI’s system for managing care navigation and incidental findings.

The integration is intended to help health systems ensure patients identified through imaging are guided and supported along the appropriate treatment pathway.

Health systems frequently encounter difficulties when critical findings identified by imaging AI are not acted upon due to a lack of effective follow-up infrastructure, said Azra AI.

The partnership aims to address these issues by connecting Blackford’s portfolio of more than 130 AI imaging applications, spanning multiple clinical and operational areas, with Azra AI’s patient navigation capabilities.

This approach aims to minimise the risk that patients miss critical follow-up care after abnormal test results.

Azra AI CEO John Marshall said: “A finding that is detected but not followed up on is not a win for the patient. Our mission at Azra AI is to ensure every identified patient gets connected to the right care, at the right time.

“Partnering with Blackford means we can pursue that mission earlier in the patient journey, from the moment a finding appears on an image to the moment that patient walks through the door for treatment.”

Blackford managing director James Holroyd said: “Our platform gives health systems the AI capabilities they need across the imaging workflow. Partnering with Azra AI means those capabilities don't stop at detection, they carry through into how patients get seen and treated.”

Azra AI operates an enterprise platform that uses data to guide patients from initial detection to treatment.

Active in numerous hospitals and health systems in the US, the platform aims to support care delivery, oncology navigation and the management of incidental findings.

Blackford has developed an AI platform that provides hospitals, radiology groups and imaging centres with access to a broad range of AI applications, all integrated into existing imaging workflows.
