US-based healthcare company John Snow Labs has announced a partnership with Lunar Analytics to provide AI solutions that tackle medical prior authorisation and improve efficiencies in pharmacy and benefits workflows.
The collaboration will allow customers to handle sensitive patient and clinical data entirely within secure environments, eliminating the need to rely on external application programming interfaces or third-party medical language models.
The platform features agents for automated prior authorisation, personal health analytics, longitudinal care companionship, formulary optimisation and medication-to-pharmacy conversion.
These aspects are powered by John Snow Labs’ medical language models and de-identification tools to ensure secure data processing in real time.
Lunar Analytics can be implemented on any platform or on-premise, and its Software as a Service version is hosted on AWS and uses AWS Generative AI services to handle large data volumes.
John Snow Labs CEO David Talby stated: “Providers and payers want measurable savings and fewer administrative delays without having to send protected health information to third-party models.

The platform will be previewed at the Applied AI Summit, taking place online from 14 October to 16 October 2025, in a session called Generating Value and Improved Outcomes in Pharmacy Benefits with Agentic AI, led by Lunar Analytics co-founder and chief technology and AI officer Dr Spencer Schaefer.
The solution enhances workflows and can scale effectively to meet enterprise workloads.
