Maia combines patient engagement and automated, evidence-based responses to assist Millie’s care teams.

Millie has introduced Maia, an AI agent that integrates into the patient-facing mobile app, for enhancing women’s healthcare ecosystem.

The integration enables patients to receive reminders regarding their pregnancy care, access quick answers, manage appointments, and customise the AI agent to suit their preferences.

Maia offers personalised, always-available maternity support, adapting communication based on medical preferences and history.

It combines patient engagement and automated, evidence-based responses to assist Millie’s care teams round the clock, reducing the need to consult lengthy guides.

The agent also optimises business and operations on a modern data platform engineered for real-time AI reasoning. It supports tasks such as appointment visualisation, staffing prediction, ticket management, and patient follow-ups with increased precision and speed.

Clinically, Millie deploys charting tools for data extraction from medical records, easing documentation burdens amid OB-GYN shortages and enabling early risk detection to improve outcomes.

Following recent clinic openings and expanded gynaecology services including menopause and fertility care, Millie plans further clinic launches across California, US and beyond with health system partnerships in 2026.

Millie product and technology senior vice-president Chase Schwalbach said: “The healthcare system is full of valuable patient data that sits trapped in disconnected systems.

“At Millie, we’ve built a centralised, AI-ready data platform that connects clinical, operational, and patient-facing information in one place. This infrastructure is what has allowed us to launch Maia.”

Millie founder and CEO Anu Sharma said. “We have seen significant interest from health systems that are looking for next-generation solutions that not only address acute OBGYN shortages, but also meet the expectations of modern parents, and deliver growth with cost efficiency. AI makes Millie’s care model even better.”

In February 2025, Millie secured $12m in a Series A funding round to expand its technology platform and services.
