Sentact has expanded its patient safety portfolio with the acquisitions of Performance Health Partners (PHP) and the Vizient Patient Safety Organization (PSO).
The move aims to support Sentact’s strategy to help healthcare organisations achieve measurable improvements in quality and safety.
The acquisition of PHP brings a configurable event and incident management solution to Sentact’s offerings.
PHP’s system is designed to streamline the process of safety incident reporting, covering every stage from the initial report to resolution.
The technology is said to enhance Sentact's software offerings by adding digital workflow and insights, supporting root cause analysis and driving safety enhancements across various healthcare settings.
In line with the acquisition, PHP CEO and founder Heidi Raines will be joining Sentact as chief strategy officer.
In the new role, Raines will help advance the combined entity’s aim to support critical safety and patient experience initiatives aimed at improving outcomes.
Raines said: “PHP’s mission has always been to transform healthcare safety, and joining Sentact accelerates that mission in a powerful way.
“Joining Sentact enables us to significantly expand our reach and deliver even more value to the organisations we have proudly served for over a decade.”
The Vizient PSO comprises 332 participating organisations such as academic medical centres, ambulatory clinics, health systems, long-term care facilities, physician groups and other care settings.
The team that has managed the Vizient PSO for the past 15 years will join Sentact, bringing their experience to the new PSO offering.
This will provide participating organisations with analytics, insights, tools and expert support focused on the safety of the patients, as well as a legally protected environment for sharing information and learning from other organisations to help minimise risk.
Bailey & Co and Silvermark Partners acted as financial advisers to PHP and the Vizient PSO, respectively.
