US-based medical group Sound Physicians has partnered with WellStack to modernise its data infrastructure, a move to enhance data-driven decision-making in financial, clinical, and operational areas.
This strategic initiative involves the implementation of WellStack’s Unified Data Model (UDM) alongside the launch of two specialised analytics data marts—the RCM Decision Hub and the ACO Decision Hub.
These tools will collectively equip Sound with real-time insights to enhance population health management, streamline revenue cycle operations, and advance value-based care initiatives.
Sound Physicians Medical Group president Dr John Birkmeyer said: “To deliver exceptional care at scale, we must continuously advance how we use data across every dimension of our organisation.
“WellStack’s platform gives us a foundation for real-time decision-making, deeper clinical insights, and operational agility—helping us better support our clinicians and the patients they serve.”
This partnership will see WellStack standardise and consolidate data from billing platforms, payer data, and clinical systems.
WellStack CEO Rich Waller said: “Sound Physicians is known for their forward-thinking, physician-led approach to care. We’re proud to help power their data transformation journey with a unified platform that enables smarter decisions, stronger performance, and meaningful outcomes at every level of care delivery.”
With WellStack’s platform, Sound Physicians expects to manage risk more effectively, operate with greater agility, and deliver proactive care in an evolving healthcare environment.
The partnership is also part of Sound's strategy to enhance patient outcomes within the communities it serves.
Sound Physicians comprises a team of more than 4,000 practitioners specialising in anaesthesia, critical care, hospital medicine, and emergency care.
It delivers clinical services to a diverse range of patients and long-term care residents across 45 US states.
Earlier this year, Hartford HealthCare collaborated with WellStack to enhance its digital health strategy using the latter’s data platform.
