US-based deep-tech company Sphere and the National Health Council (NHC) have formed a strategic partnership aimed at advancing “responsible” AI adoption within patient-centric healthcare organisations.
The collaboration is designed to improve how institutions leverage AI to enhance the efficiency of operational processes, support decision-making, and secure sensitive patient data.
The initiative is stated to place providers, patients, and caregivers at the forefront of AI adoption within the healthcare sector.
NHC CEO Randall Rutta said: “AI has the potential to strengthen healthcare, but only when it’s applied with transparency and a clear focus on patient needs. Through this partnership, we aim to demonstrate how technology can serve patients, not the other way around.”
Sphere’s OrgBrain platform provides nonprofit and healthcare organisations with secure access to generative AI within existing systems.
According to the company, this platform prioritises data privacy, ensures transparency of insights, and avoids vendor lock-in to support operations such as strategic planning, policy development, and compliance reviews.
Sphere co-founder Kelly Kiefer said: “Partnering with the NHC allows us to bring responsible, explainable AI directly to the healthcare organisations that need it most. Together, we’re showing that enterprise-grade AI can be both powerful and principled – advancing innovation without compromising trust.”
The partnership will initially focus on streamlining administrative workflows, enhancing strategic planning, and strengthening board governance for the NHC and its members.
Additional collaboration is planned around the NHC’s Patient Experience + Innovation Center, which brings together healthcare stakeholders to co-create solutions targeting improved outcomes for those living with chronic diseases and disabilities.
Sphere stated that its technology is already being used in regulated sectors, offering faster workflow completion and measurable gains in transparency and compliance. The NHC intends to expand these benefits to its nationwide members.
