Top Doctors and iWantGreatCare (IWGC) have agreed to combine operations, with an aim to become the reference firm for reviews of UK hospitals, clinics, and doctors.

The deal will see IWGC operating as an independent business within the Top Doctors Group. Through the combination, Top Doctors Group’s workforce will increase to 455 employees.

The employees and brands of both firms will be retained.

Top Doctors is an online platform, which helps patients find top medical specialists. Its website attracts more than 23 million monthly users worldwide.

Established in 2008, IWGC focuses on tackling healthcare inequalities and taking reviews from patients of their care experiences.

In addition to the review website, IWGC collaborates directly with organisations in the NHS, private healthcare, and life sciences sectors to facilitate patient engagement.

Its review system integrates with PHIN (Private Healthcare Information Network) and the NHS.

IWGC counts NHS, private providers, large hospital groups, GP Practices, hospices, trusts, and private clinics as customers. 

According to Top Doctors, the addition of this customer base with its own clientele will create a “growing international network of B2B partnerships”.

The merger aims to create synergies between the two teams and create a “one-stop-shop” for the people, the NHS, and the entire health industry in the UK.

It will result in a technological boost for the UK healthcare ecosystem, enhance care processes and enable better communication between patients and healthcare professionals, stated Top Doctors.
