US-based healthcare services provider Valley Health System has officially completed the relocation of The Valley Hospital from Ridgewood to Paramus in New Jersey, US.  

The new hospital is now located at 4 Valley Health Plaza in Paramus, providing acute and emergency care services to patients.  

Starting on 15 April, patients from the old Ridgewood site were individually transferred to the new Paramus hospital, a short 2.5-mile away, via ambulance with the assistance of OnTime Medical Transportation and Valley’s medical staff. 

Following the latest move, the former Ridgewood location at 223 North Van Dien Avenue has been renamed Valley Health System – Ridgewood Campus and will continue to serve the community as an outpatient healthcare destination. 

This Ridgewood Campus will offer a range of services, including outpatient diagnostic imaging, outpatient laboratory, outpatient endoscopy, and The Valley Hospital Community Care Clinic. It will also house Valley’s Graduate Medical Education programmes.

The latest move comes shortly after the health system introduced this new 370-bed hospital in Paramus to the community, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony last month.  

The hospital's construction, first announced in 2017, began in November 2019 and reached a milestone with a ‘topping-out’ ceremony in December 2020.  

Valley Health System's new hospital includes an expanded emergency department, an intraoperative MRI suite, dedicated single-patient rooms in the neonate intensive care unit (NICU), and environmentally friendly features such as park-like grounds and green roofs. 

It also has single-patient rooms to provide private space and advanced patient amenities, including 75in footwall displays in rooms for patient information and entertainment.
