The hospital will consolidate health services in a single location, facilitating improved patient care.

The New South Wales Government has announced a construction milestone at the A$330m ($217m) Eurobodalla Regional Hospital in Australia, with structural works now completed.

The hospital is expected to commence operations in 2027 as a Level Four health facility, catering to communities from Narooma to Batemans Bay.

The purpose-built Eurobodalla Regional Hospital will enhance access to healthcare services, minimising the necessity for residents to leave the region for treatment.

It will consolidate health services in a single location, facilitating improved patient care and expanding capacity for the Eurobodalla Shire community.

The hospital will feature an emergency department with a capacity that is larger than combined services provided at the existing Batemans Bay and Moruya hospitals.

It will also include an eight-bed intensive care unit, enhanced access to renal dialysis and chemotherapy treatments, operating and surgical theatres, and an expanded medical imaging department that will offer MRI services.

Additional services at the facility will include ambulatory care, outpatient services, maternity and paediatric care featuring a special care nursery, and mental health beds.

The project team will now focus on continuing the internal fit-out at the hospital, external works, and facade installation.

The hospital's design has been created in collaboration with the community, clinicians, and local healthcare professionals.

NSW Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park said: “This is a significant milestone for the entire Eurobodalla community, marking considerable progress on one of the largest health infrastructure projects in the region's history.

“This purpose-built hospital is an example of how we are delivering enhanced and world-class healthcare closer to people's front door and meeting the future health needs of regional communities.

“We're investing more in health than any other time in our state's history. More staff, more hospitals, lower wait times - it's as simple as that.”
