Medical Solutions company WorldWide HealthStaff Solutions has recruited more than 500 nurses in 2025 to be placed at healthcare facilities throughout Iowa, US.

The recruitment effort addresses the state's nursing workforce gap and aims to strengthen patient care delivery across the region.

A 2025 Health Resources and Services Administration report indicates Iowa's projected nurse supply of 25,350 is 21% below the demand of 32,020.

Once these internationally trained nurses arrive in the country and commence practice, they will contribute new professionals to the state's nursing workforce, aiding rural clinics, hospitals, and long-term care centres dealing with staffing shortages.

The company reported that the nurses are presently fulfilling immigration requirements and obtaining their licences prior to their relocation to Iowa.

Upon their arrival, it is anticipated that their presence will strengthen teams, improve nurse-to-patient ratios and decrease dependence on overtime and agency staffing, all of which are linked to higher staff retention and better patient outcomes.

The recruitment is aimed at strengthening the healthcare system to benefit communities, providers, and patients across the region.

Medical Solutions chief client officer Karin Selfors-Thomann said: “This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to providing sustainable workforce solutions that strengthen healthcare delivery in the US.

“By connecting internationally trained nurses with Iowa's hospitals and long-term care facilities, we're helping address critical staffing gaps and supporting both healthcare facilities and the patients they serve.”

WorldWide HealthStaff Solutions specialises in the direct recruitment of international nurses, linking healthcare employers with healthcare professionals and qualified registered nurses worldwide.

The company has offices in the Philippines, US and the United Arab Emirates.
