Xapify has signed a copyright and knowledge agreement with Mayo Clinic to digitise and facilitate the latter’s Tiered Skills Acquisition Model (TSAM) framework via the Xapify Competency Marketplace.

This partnership allows healthcare organisations to adopt a tiered method to orientation of nursing in a completely digital format, thereby minimising administrative burdens while facilitating evidence-based competency management.

TSAM is a preceptor-led, structured model designed for nursing orientation that aims to aid in skill development through well-defined tiers.

Published findings have demonstrated a decrease in orientation time, alongside enhancements in retention rates and nurse confidence.

Through TSAM digitisation, Xapify seeks to equip hospitals with readily available orientation content, automated sign-off procedures, customisable checklists, and real-time progress monitoring — all underpinned by audit-ready records that are secure.

Xapify CEO Nick Stephenson said: "We are excited to collaborate with Mayo Clinic to make the TSAM framework easily accessible through the Xapify Competency Marketplace.

"This will allow healthcare organisations to deploy a standardised, data-driven approach to nursing orientation that can save time for educators and preceptors whilst ensuring competency verification is consistent and transparent."

Digital competency management platform provider Xapify assists healthcare organisations in verifying skills, monitoring development, and streamlining orientation programmes.

Through its Competency Marketplace, Xapify provides evidence-based, ready-to-use frameworks for organisations.

Mayo Clinic continuing nursing education programme director Denise Rismeyer said: "We're sharing our staff's expertise and the tools we've developed with direct care nursing teams.

"Our goal is for Mayo Clinic Nursing to spread knowledge worldwide, helping nurses grow professionally and enhancing patient care. This initiative is intended to foster professional development among nurses and, in turn, elevate patient care standards."
