AdventHealth Zephyrhills has launched its Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, which is newly renovated, for diagnosing and treating heart rhythm problems.
The upgraded facility now features the Philips Azurion 3 imaging system, which allows for more precise complex imaging procedures.
Furthermore, with the incorporation of 3D heart mapping technologies from Biosense Webster and St. Jude Medical bolsters, electrophysiologists will be able to detect and manage heart rhythm disorders with increased precision.
The EP Lab’s renovation also signifies the resumption of transseptal procedures, encompassing Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Ablations.
This treatment is particularly crucial for the over five million adults in the US diagnosed with AFib, a number that is expected to rise to over 12 million by 2030.
According to CDC data, AFib notably promotes the risk of stroke, contributing to approximately one in seven strokes.
