
Aspirus Health has acquired a 22.1-acre site in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, US, with plans to commence construction of a new hospital this spring (March to June).
This development is set to address healthcare service gaps in the region and enhance patient care.
Aspirus Health Special Projects senior vice-president Sid Sczygelski said: “This project aligns with our mission to provide much-needed healthcare services to the community.
“We believe our experience in rural and small-city healthcare will enable us to serve the people of Chippewa Falls and the surrounding area with excellence and compassion.”
The designated location for the new facility is on Chippewa Crossing Boulevard, situated across from Fire Station No. 1.
Initially, the hospital will offer emergency services, primary care, inpatient care and essential laboratory and imaging services.

By GlobalDataThe first phase is projected to span around 27,000ft², offering an emergency department with ten inpatient beds and ten treatment rooms.
Additional features of the hospital will include an on-site clinic with ten treatment rooms, laboratory services, imaging services such as X-ray and CT scans, and dietary services.
The plans also incorporate a helipad to facilitate emergency transport.
The construction process will initiate with site preparation, encompassing the development of new roads to enhance hospital campus access.
Aspirus Health has engaged Wisconsin-based companies REI and HGA for civil engineering and architectural planning, respectively.
The organisation aims to complete the facility and open its doors to patients in 18 months.
Sczygelski added: “We are committed to meeting the healthcare needs of Chippewa Falls residents and providing essential services now and in the future.”
In March 2024, Aspirus Health announced plans for a $40m expansion and refurbishment project at Aspirus Merrill Hospital in Merrill, Wisconsin.
This initiative is designed to boost the hospital’s accessibility, efficiency, and capabilities, thereby offering an improved patient experience.
