
Encompass Health has announced the opening of a new 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Fort Myers, Florida, US.
The new Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Myers is a joint venture between Lee Health and Encompass Health.
It aims to assist patients recovering from serious conditions, such as brain injuries, strokes, and spinal cord injuries, as well as amputations and intricate orthopaedic conditions.
Lee Health chief operating and financial officer Ben Spence said: “The opening of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Myers marks a significant milestone in expanding access to high-quality rehabilitative care in our region.
“Through our partnership with Encompass Health, we’re proud to bring advanced, patient-centred rehabilitation services to the community, helping individuals recover and thrive close to home.”
Patients at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Myers will have access to a minimum of three hours of therapy five days a week, round-the-clock nursing care, and frequent physician visits.

By GlobalDataAmenities at the hospital include private patient rooms, a therapy gym with advanced rehabilitation technologies, and an activities of daily living suite.
Additional facilities include an in-house dialysis suite, a therapy courtyard, a dining room, an in-house pharmacy, and dayroom areas.
An interdisciplinary team of professionals at the rehabilitation hospital, encompassing therapists, nurses, and physicians, will offer occupational, physical, and speech therapies.

The hospital represents Encompass Health’s 168th inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the country and its 22nd in Florida.
The organisation recently unveiled preliminary plans for a new 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in St George, Utah, US.
