Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s (JSUMC) $45m cardiovascular service expansion project is progressing as scheduled and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Situated on the fourth floor of the NorthWest Pavilion, the new Cardiovascular Suite will be spread across nearly 30,000ft² of new space.
The suite aims to boost JSUMC’s capacity for high-quality cardiovascular treatments. JSUMC is claimed to be Monmouth and Ocean counties’ sole provider of open heart and minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
As a Joint Commission-designated Comprehensive Stroke Center and a major academic medical centre, JSUMC offers advanced treatment options, including structural heart, electrophysiology (EP), emergency heart attack and stroke care, alongside patient clinical trials and new cardiovascular devices.
Once open, the new suite will feature four dedicated cardiac catheterisation labs, four EP labs, two hybrid operating rooms, and a 28-bay patient prep and recovery area, nearly tripling the current patient capacity.
The suite’s design has been developed with direct input from JSUMC’s cardiologists, nurses, technicians, and other experts to ensure optimal patient and family experience.
