Huntsville Hospital Health System (HH Health) in the US is set to expand its partnership with Oracle Health to help increase operational efficiency across its network, accelerate innovation, and improve patient care.

HH Health will broaden the use of the Oracle Health Foundation electronic health record (EHR) system across its complete network.

It will also deploy Oracle Health Data Intelligence to obtain deeper insights into patient health and financial performance.

To address the rising number of patients, HH Health plans to standardise its use of EHR to support coordinated care and provide a consistent experience as patients and providers move between facilities.

Clinicians at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, Huntsville Hospital, and Madison Hospital have been using the system since 2019.

Additional rollouts to other hospitals and facilities are planned in the coming years.

As implementation continues, Oracle Health’s technology will be integrated across the HH Health network to support patient care at any facility within the system.

The EHR provides clinicians with access to a consistent interface and a unified patient record, allowing staff to work more easily across locations.

This helps to streamline documentation, supports clinical decision-making, and makes patient follow-ups easier to manage.

Huntsville Hospital Health System vice-president and chief information officer Rick Corn said: “This collaboration helps to unify our network, will standardise technology, and allows us to more easily adopt innovative technologies so our facilities can function as one and remain valuable resources to each of their communities.”

HH Health also plans to implement Oracle Health Data Intelligence later this year to better use its data for improving care plans, supporting patient engagement, and managing reimbursements.

Earlier this month, Huntsville Hospital initiated a $150m vertical expansion of the Madison Street Tower in Alabama, US, along with Robins & Morton.
