Lifepoint Health’s business unit Lifepoint Behavioral Health has begun developing a behavioural health hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, US, in collaboration with Mercy Health-Youngstown.
The start of construction of the Mercy Health Behavioral Hospital was marked by a ground-breaking ceremony.
The 61,900ft² hospital will feature 72 beds and provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient mental health services.
The facility will cater to adults and geriatric patients experiencing different mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, psychosis, personality disorders, and co-occurring substance abuse.
It will also offer a partial hospitalisation programme and an intensive outpatient programme.
Mercy Health Behavioral Hospital’s architectural design is intended to foster a therapeutic healing environment, with open spaces, community areas, courtyards, clinical support facilities and other patient amenities.
