Medaptus, a healthcare technology solutions provider, has announced the launch of its real-time Hospital Medicine Analytics solution.

This tool is designed to aid hospital medicine businesses in monitoring key operational metrics, enabling them to make informed decisions swiftly without relying on manually aggregated data.

The development of Hospital Medicine Analytics was informed by the medaptus Ignite Customer Advisory Board and created in collaboration with hospital medicine leaders to reflect the metrics that are significant to their teams.

Baptist Health Medical Group, University of Rochester – Highland Hospital, Valley Hospitalist Medical Group, Banner Medical Group and BayCare have contributed to its evolution through real-world insights and ongoing feedback.

The initial release features four dashboards: AM Assignments Counts, Assigned Providers per Hospitalization, Admissions and Discharges and Average Patients per Provider.

These dashboards provide centralised visibility into trends on the performance, census activity, and workloads of the provider.

Future updates will include additional dashboards offering insights into hourly admission trends, discharge efficiency, discharges that take place before noon, 30-day readmission rates and length of stay.

The solution utilises real-time data from the automated patient assignment and Census Manager features of the platform, offering a comprehensive view of hospitalist operations.

With the tool, hospital leaders can make real-time adjustments to assignments based on changes in patient census, evaluate provider performance by analysing discharge rates and volumes, and examine historical census trends to inform staffing in the future and resource allocation decisions.

The intuitive interface of the solution allows users to explore provider-level metrics and patient volume in a centralised, real-time view.

medaptus CEO Malachi Charbonneau said: “With fluctuating patient volumes and ongoing staffing challenges, hospital medicine departments need instant visibility into their operations.

“Our new Hospital Medicine Analytics platform surfaces the critical information leaders need—quickly and clearly—to support smarter planning, efficient resource use, and ultimately better patient care.”

In February 2024, The Queen’s Health System, a private non-profit hospital in Hawaii, US, has turned to medaptus for its EHR integrated patient assignment tool, Assign.
