The State of Florida in the US is set to deploy Audacious Inquiry’s (Ai) Patient Unified Lookup System for Emergencies (PULSE) Enterprise platform for secure access to health records during public health emergencies and disasters.

Ai contracted the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to deploy the platform in the state for immediate public health assistance around Covid-19 and to prepare for the 2021 hurricane season.

The latest platform is said to be the next generation of the PULSE edition which was used by providers, emergency responders, and public health officials during the California wildfires from 2017-2019.

Using the eHealth Exchange, the application displays patient’s medical histories to authorised medical providers in non-traditional healthcare settings such as special needs shelters, mobile field hospitals, and other alternate care sites.

Ai’s PULSE Enterprise also integrates with health information network Surescripts for providing emergency response personnel consolidated medical history during declared emergencies.

By using this platform, the personnel in Florida can securely access patient health care information of patients who have been displaced by disaster.
